It includes:

  • information about type 2 diabetes and its treatments;
  • advice on emotional and mental wellbeing;
  • advice with adopting and maintaining healthy behaviours with food and exercise.

Diabetes Group in Gateshead has been in existence for over 40 years.The Group is one of the Network of groups that aim to raise awareness,provide support, help, companionship,education, fundraising and information for people living with diabetes there carers and people interested in diabetes.

You are welcome to attend our free regular group, where you will have the opportunity to share your experience with other like-minded people and put questions to our speakers.

The topics covered range far and wide from specifics aspects of diabetes management delivered by medical experts, volunteers through to sensible eating delivered by nutritionists.
