Throughout the year we have been sharing monthly activity data. Below is a summary from 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2024. These figures do not show everything that happens within the practice, but they do give you an idea of the work that goes into the daily operation of our GP Practice.
* 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 *
1,922 missed appointments is equivalent to 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀’ 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝟴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel so we can offer it to another patient. If every patient cancelled unneeded appointments then it would reduce the waiting times for others. T𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟭,𝟬𝟯𝟳 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 – 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗶𝘀 £𝟯𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. With 1,922 missed appointments in 2024, the cost to the NHS was £𝟱𝟳,𝟲𝟲𝟬. This could be used to pay for 2-3 newly qualified nurses’ annual salaries or an upgrade to medical equipment. It is also a significant portion of our running costs.

89,382 incoming phone calls handled over the year is equivalent to answering a phone every 100 seconds.
* 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 *
54,942 face to face appointments over the year is equivalent to a patient being seen every 2.9 minutes.
* 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝗱 *
64,274 prescriptions issued over the year is equivalent to more than 2 prescriptions being issued every 5 minutes.
